Terms of Service
01. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and SoundDeck Systems ("SoundDeck", "we", "us"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the software and website.
02. License Grant & Software Access
Upon purchase through Valve Corporation's Steam store or authorized channels, SoundDeck grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, single-user license to install and execute the software on compatible Windows and Steam Deck operating environments according to our End User License Agreement.
03. Commercial Streaming & Content Creation Rights
We celebrate content creators, esports organizations, and live streamers. You are explicitly authorized to broadcast, stream, record, and monetize audio output produced by SoundDeck on platforms including, but not limited to, Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Facebook Gaming, TikTok Live, and Discord. No secondary royalty payments or public performance license fees are owed to SoundDeck.
04. User-Generated Audio & Copyright Compliance (DMCA)
SoundDeck provides an audio routing engine and playback matrix. You are solely responsible for all audio files (WAV, MP3, OGG, FLAC) you import, bind to hotkeys, or broadcast into third-party voice communications (e.g. Discord, Counter-Strike 2, Rust, TeamSpeak).
- You warrant that you possess the necessary licenses, rights, or fair-use exemptions for all imported media.
- You agree not to use SoundDeck to harass other players, conduct hate speech, broadcast unauthorized non-consensual voice recordings, or violate gaming platform Community Guidelines.
- SoundDeck respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and European Copyright Directives.
05. Anti-Cheat Compatibility & System Integrity
SoundDeck operates strictly in user-space utilizing standard Microsoft Windows CoreAudio and WASAPI audio APIs. It does not inject DLLs into third-party game processes, modify game executable memory, or bypass kernel anti-cheat engines (such as Valve Anti-Cheat, Easy Anti-Cheat, BattlEye, or Riot Vanguard). However, users are responsible for complying with the competitive rules of individual tournaments.
06. Remote Companion Portal & Network Security
The SoundDeck Web Companion (getsounddeck.com/portal) provides remote macro triggering via direct WebRTC and WebSocket channels. You are responsible for safeguarding your session codes and authorizing only trusted mobile devices or secondary screens on your network.
07. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SOUNDDECK IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. SOUNDDECK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE ENGINE, INCLUDING AUDIO CLIPPING, TEMPORARY SYSTEM GLITCHES, OR THIRD-PARTY ACCOUNT BANS RESULTING FROM MISUSE OF USER SOUND CLIPS.
08. Governing Law & Forum
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Belgium and European Union statutes, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the competent courts of Belgium.
